Factor VII is a vitamin K-dependent plasma glycoprotein consisting of 406 amino acids. It is involved in blood coagulation. It can be obtained from human plasma or produced by recombinant DNA technology (Eptacog Alfa). It is used to treat bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, Glanzmann's thrombasthenia, and congenital factor VII deficiency, and in the treatment of severe postpartum hemorrhage unresponsive to uterotonics.
