Cosmetic and nonsurgical procedure for local or areal reduction of the subcutaneous adipose tissue by means of ultrasonic waves that destroy or alter adipocytes causing a cavitation of them.
Along with the cryolipolysis (see specific info), low-intensity laser and radiofrequency, it is one of the procedures that are know as "Non-surgical body modeling" or "Liposuction without surgery."
It does not cause harmful side effects, does not alter the surrounding tissues and does not induce changes on the lipid composition or results of other blood plasma tests (Gadsden 2011, Jewell 2011, Shalom 2013, Tonucci 2014), in such a way it is not presumable that it would affect the composition of milk.
Logically, it should not be applied to the chest while breastfeeding.
High quality evidence on their effectiveness is not available.
