Safe substance and/or breastfeeding is the best option.

Polypeptide with antibacterial properties which is isolated through fermentation of Bacillus brevis. It contains a mixture of Gramicidin and Tyrocidine.
Topically used on skin and mouth infections, often associated with benzocaine.
It is highly toxic when systemically used. It has been withdrawn from the market in some countries due to lack of therapeutic effectiveness.

Given its negligible systemic absorption and high molecular weight, excretion into breastmilk is highly unlikely.

Do not apply on the breast to prevent ingestion by the infant.

We do not have alternatives for τυροτριχίνη since it is relatively safe.

Suggestions made at e-lactancia are done by APILAM team of health professionals, and are based on updated scientific publications. It is not intended to replace the relationship you have with your doctor but to compound it. The pharmaceutical industry contraindicates breastfeeding, mistakenly and without scientific reasons, in most of the drug data sheets.
