シクレソニド

Compatible

Safe product and/or breastfeeding is the best option.

Ciclesonide is a corticosteroid used by inhaled route in the treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis.

At the date of last update we found no published data in relation to breastfeeding.

Its pharmacokinetic characteristics, -low systemic absorption, moderately high molecular weight, high binding to plasma proteins and large volume of distribution (AEMPS 2014, FDA 2012, Rohatagi 2003)-, make passage into breast milk of significant amounts and subsequent absorption by the infant very unlikely.

Its low oral bioavailability (FDA 2012) makes it difficult for it to pass into infant plasma from ingested breast milk, except in premature infants and the immediate neonatal period in which there may be greater intestinal permeability.

Several medical societies and expert authors consider Flunisolide and, in general, corticosteroids, topical, systemic or inhaled, to be safe and/or probably compatible with breastfeeding. (Hale, LactMed, Middleton 2020, Briggs 2015, Schaefer 2015, National Asthma 2004)

Suggestions made at e-lactancia are done by APILAM team of health professionals, and are based on updated scientific publications. It is not intended to replace the relationship you have with your doctor but to compound it. The pharmaceutical industry contraindicates breastfeeding, mistakenly and without scientific reasons, in most of the drug data sheets.
