Inhibitor of the enzyme neuraminidase (sialidase), indicated in the treatment and prophylaxis of influenza.
Oral administration in two daily doses.

It is excreted in breastmilk in clinically insignificant amounts (Greer 2011, Wentges 2008), much lower than the dose used in newborns and infants (Greer 2011, Kanmaz 2011).

It has been used in newborns (Kanmaz 2010).

Various medical associations and expert consensus consider its use to be safe during breastfeeding (Dembinski 2010, Skalli 2010, Chen 2010, Tanaka 2009, ABM 2009, AEM 2009, Satpathy 2009).
