May induce severe vasoconstriction of coronary arteries and lower extremity vessels that can lead to heart infarction and hypertensive crisis. (Feng 2023, Dugoua 2008, Rao 2002)

Can induce abortion. (Feng 2023, Dugoua 2008)

Heart infarction and seizures have been reported in neonate infants from women who used it to stimulate uterine contractions in labor. (Dante 2014, Dugoua 2008, Finkel 2004, Jones 1998)
