It contains flavonoids, essential oil which is rich in citral and pertenes.

Attributed effects that have not been clinically tested: digestion improvement, antispasmodic.

The Commission E of German Ministry of Health does not credit any benefit for Health.

At latest update, relevant published data on excretion into breast milk were not found.

Widely used, especially in South America. Because of a lack of toxicity, the occasional or moderate consumption during breastfeeding is thought be of low or nil risk.
