Electroencephalogram (EEG)

Very Low Risk

Safe. Compatible. Minimal risk for breastfeeding and infant.

An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a procedure that measures the electrical activity of the brain.
There is no risk of electric shock. The EEG does not send any electricity to the body. It only records electricity.(Medline Plus)

The practice of this technique does not cause alterations in the production or composition of breast milk.

The practice of an EEG is compatible with lactation.

To avoid interference, you should not breastfeed during the test, which lasts a few minutes. Immediately after this exploration you can breastfeed without problems.

Suggestions made at e-lactancia are done by APILAM team of health professionals, and are based on updated scientific publications. It is not intended to replace the relationship you have with your doctor but to compound it. The pharmaceutical industry contraindicates breastfeeding, mistakenly and without scientific reasons, in most of the drug data sheets.
