The juice of the ripe fruit is used. It contains proanthocyanidins (PAC), anthocyanosides, flavonols and phenolic acids. They have bacterial anti-adherence effect and is used as a preventive of urinary tract infection. (Fitoterapia.net, Amer 2015, WHO 2009, Nergård 2009)
