Leaves, flowers and fruits are used. It contains mucilage, flavonoids and tannins. The Commission E of the German Ministry of Health has not approved any medical indication of this plant. Traditionally used as a diuretic and astringent medication.
We do not have alternatives for Prickly Pear since it is relatively safe.
